Maplers & Ankle-Sockers

I'm in a bad mood today so I guess I'll blast things that I don't like. The heading gives you a hint.

But first, something more light-hearted. During Lang Arts lesson, Xun Kai's group did a PowerPoint on how to make a Cappuccino (did I spell it right?). After the presentation, Mr Faizad told us about the different types of designer coffees. It appears that he once worked in a Starbucks before. Cool. Then he asked who are regular coffee drinkers. Only a few hands went up, mine included. I was kinda shocked. HOW DID THESE PEOPLE SCORE WELL FOR THEIR PSLE WITHOUT COFFEE?? Anyways, let me impart my prescious coffee knowledge to you:~

Espresso: Just pure, simple, coffee. The "base" for all the other designer coffees.

Cappuccino: Espresso + Frothed Milk. 1:1

Latte: Espresso + Frothed Milk. 3:1

Mocha: Espresso + Chocolate

Double Espresso: Espresso x2. Duh.

Long Black: That traditional coffeeshop coffee. Known to many as Kopi-O.

Red Eye: Long Black + Espresso

Gosh, I can work at Starbucks too.

On a totally unrelated note...

Maplers: I don't see the point of wacking a mushroom. (Kudos to WReX) What do you guys have against invertibrates, huh? Thousands of snails are dying on Maple island as we speak!! Is this some kind of mushroom holocaust, or is it just a sign of total cognitive submission? (Kudos to Dogbert) I may be starting a anti-Maple blog. I'll tell you if I do.

Ankle-Sockers: How the hell do you guys find time in the morning to meticulously fold your socks? What's the point of exposing your ankles? You want long legs? Get some genes from that friend of WReX. Stop yakkin' and put a sock it in. Bad pun intended.

Alright. I won't be posting for another 4-5 days. It used to be on a 3-day basis, but now I can't find the time.

Yahtzee!

YAHTZEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wee... hahaha... that was fun. Must have been a rouge mood swing.

Anyway, just in case you're wondering what the hell Yahtzee! is, it's a Hasbro board game that lacks a board. Yes. Whatever. It's this really cool game base mainly on dumb luck. So if you're dumb, you still have a chance of winning. (Good news for Jerian.) My group has to do a PowerPoint on it. At first, when we chose this as our topic, we didn't know what the hell it was. But we still chose it. Uh, yah. It's fun, actually. I'm referring to plunging into a thing that you have never heard of before. Call the me academic daredevil.

I know I haven't posted in about a lifetime. I guess it's because there's nothing much to blog about. But today's Wednesday. Things ALWAYS happen on Wednesday. Today was the trial run for mission two of our Rocket Project. (UNBELIEVABLY lame name. Yes, I know.) We're supposed to launch a water-powered rocket with a parachute attached to it. The parachute is supposed to open up and let the rocket float down nicely. The first try ROCKED. 8 sceonds ON THE DOT. But it was just a fluke. = ( The other two trials sucked. The idiot parachute just wouldn't open. Oh well.

Today, during assembly, there was this Sex Education squad that came to RV. They did a play about teenage pregancy, yadda yadda yadda. I wondered if this play would have any effect on the growing population of perverts in RV. Then I saw Jerian and Hong Kai laughing during the play. Question answered.

Then we had PSS. We did the usual thing -- sit in circle, yak about others' love life. Jerian and Hong Kai kept shout out stuff. Yes, they're funny. But low-quality. It gives me the itch to assume the position of class clown to show them how it's done. Watch and learn, noobs.

During PDP, (I forgot what it stood for) Mr Faizad told us about this site called Technorati. It's a Google for blogs. Then he searched "Faizad". This blog came up, I think. Thrice. Mr Faizad mentioned vulgar language in blogs but he said that he wasn't accusing us. Bad lie. Of COURSE he's accusing us. Or else he wouldn't force our blogs to show up on the Projector right? I wouldn't say I've used vulgarities on this blog but I have used "replacements" such as !@#$%^&*. Actually, I don't have any word in mind when I type these things. It's just a way of expressing extreme anger/frustration with actually using any swear words.

When I checked Technorati just now, two of the blogs that Mr Faid unearth has been deleted. Hmm...

I saw a Fall Out Boy music video on MTV. It was "This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race". And it rocked. As usual.

Oookay. That's all. Nothing else.

I am an arms dealer fitting you with weapons in the form of words. And as long as the world keeps singing, that's just the bussiness I'm in

DNRC UPDATE
===========

Dogbert’s New Ruling Class boasts 480,000 members. Each one of you has so much crackling mental power that flight attendants ask you to reduce your thinking when the airplane is taking off or landing.

Blog
====

Are you reading The Dilbert Blog? If not, here’s the sort of story you are missing:

World’s Most Annoying Man:

Yesterday I was flying across the country. My biggest fear when flying isn’t that the jet might crash; it’s that I might end up sitting next to the World’s Most Annoying Man for five hours. Theoretically, such a person exists. I mean, SOMEONE has to be the most annoying man in the world. And there’s a good chance that he flies. After yesterday, I’m reasonably sure that he looks like Mr. Clean on crack, and he was sitting next to me in seat 3D.

As you know, when people use headphones, they talk too loudly because they can’t hear themselves. I learned that this phenomenon extends to nasal sounds in the sniff-snort category. Mr. Clean on crack was rocking out to his iPod and sniff-snorting so loudly every few seconds that the flight crew kept looking out the window to see if a pterodactyl was attacking the fuselage.

Oh, I’m just getting started.

The World’s Most Annoying Man enjoyed whatever was on the little airplane TV after the feature film. He displayed his happiness by rocking back and forth and making a sound like a horse with his ‘nads caught on a barbed wire fence. It went something like EEYOOOREE-SNORT-SNIFF-EEEEYOOOREEE! If you have ever tried to take a nap when Mr. Clean on crack is gelding himself next to you, then you know it isn’t easy.

The World’s Most Annoying Man ordered a beer before takeoff. And another every half hour. Add to this picture his bladder that was the size of a mosquito’s pancreas, and you can imagine how many times I had to unbuckle and rebuckle. Several times he had to go see his “assistant” in the back of the plane, which turned out to be a failed mission twice because of a beverage cart and once because she was either asleep or pretending to be dead to avoid him.

I haven’t even gotten to the good part yet.

He was a tall, lanky guy with, with fingers like breadsticks. Every few minutes he would grab some note paper and a pen, assume the "brilliant idea" pose, and then, I’m guessing, realizing he was more drunk than inspired, write a few words and…God help me…drum his fingers.

Now when I say "drum his fingers," I do not mean softly or just a few times. I mean every few seconds for an hour he would go into a drum solo on his tray table that was apparently intended to jumpstart his brain and squeeze out that nugget of brilliance that was drowning in Heineken somewhere in his cerebellum. I glanced over at his notes a few times just to see if he was writing a solution to string theory or the first chapter of a great novel. But I think it was a cross between gibberish and whatever aspires to be gibberish. The finger drumming, like his snort-sniffing, was extra loud because he still had on the headphones. Those breadstick-fingers were banging louder than Paris Hilton locked in a steel drum with a hot robot. It bothered me so much that I lost my ability to make good analogies.

He tried once to make conversation with me. “Going home?” he asked. I avoided that trap like a hamster avoids a Richard Gere film festival. (See? I’m damaged.) “Going to work,” I answered. Had he asked what kind of work, I was ready to explain my career as an actuary. No one can survive that for more than five minutes without slipping into a coma. It’s a drastic measure, but at that point it was either him or me. And my level of self-loathing didn’t even come close to my desire to kill him. So it would have been him. Luckily for him, he went back to his nonverbal methods of being annoying, and thus inadvertently saved his life.

Next time I need to cross the country, I’m walking.

TRUE TALES OF INDUHVIDUALS
==========================

Thanks to the loyal members of Dogbert’s New Ruling Class for submitting these true tales of Induhvidualism.

==

While working for a leather company, we were chatting in the lab about food. One of the other lab technicians pondered aloud, "I wonder why you never get the skin on beef?"

==

My wife and her friend were talking about eating, my wife joked that her friend has several stomachs, like a cow. She responded with “Yes, my udders.”

To which my wife said, “Udders are separate from stomachs.”

"Well it’s all attached", says she.

My wife says, "Umm, no, like humans, cows eat, it goes through their stomach, they digest, and it comes out the other end."

At which she confidently replied “Right. And milk is a cow’s pee.”

My wife cried.

==

I went into my local bookstore and explained that I needed "Mein Kampf" by Adolf Hitler, for a class essay. The woman behind the desk asked, "Is it a new release?"

==

A few of us were talking about fighter planes and one of my friends asked, "If a plane is going faster than the speed of a bullet when it fires, does the bullet come out the back of the plane?" We were all surprised when he failed out of the engineering program the following semester.

==

I was at a new grocery and asked where the flour tortillas were. The young woman suggested checking the floral department.

==

I stopped at a convenience store to ask directions. The clerk asked, "Are you coming from State Route 37?" With as much patience as I could muster, I pointed to my car, the only one in the parking lot, and said, "No. I'm coming from right here."

==

I'm a headhunter who presented an outstanding manager candidate (or at least I thought) for a position. During the interview, he was asked why he was leaving his employer, and his response was that his employees were circulating a petition asking his boss to fire him. Needless to say......

==

I was in a teacher training class on history, and one of the people in the class, when we got to the part about BC and AD, asked, "In BC, how did the people know to count the years backwards?"

Test Your Marketing Talent
=====================

I recently bought a very cool gigantic (almost 5’ tall) wooden tennis racket that now stands in the corner of my office. The company that sold it also sells gigantic golf clubs and gigantic baseball bats for decorating your home, office, or clubhouse. Here’s a test of your marketing talent: Try to come up with a name for this business that is better than the one chosen by the actual company. (I’ll reveal their choice at the end.)

These would be bad examples:

Enormous Sports Equipment R Us

Furniture-sized Rackets, Drivers, and Bats, Inc.

Huge Sporty Art Things

It’s a tough marketing challenge.

I’ll give you one more helpful hint. I’ve noticed that everyone who sees my gigantic wooden tennis racket immediately smiles and walks over to it. It makes people happy just because, well, it’s huge and wooden. I’m sure it would be the same with the gigantic golf club or gigantic baseball bat. It’s manly art that makes you happy. Take your best guess and then scroll down to see if it’s better than the real company name. I’ll bet it isn’t.

Ask Dogbert
============

Dogbert answers tough questions with tough love.

==

Hi Dogbert,

I decided to ask you something because you’re so crazy-sexy-cool. But I couldn't think of anything, so my dad's question is "How do I make more money?"

Andrew

Dear Androol,

Your dad sounds like a loser. I recommend taking out a life insurance policy on him and steering him toward jobs with high mortality rates.

Sincerely,

Dogbert

==

Dear Dogbert,

What sort of place in society will people like my boss have when you take over the world?

Jaden

Dear Jadung,

Anyone who does not subscribe to the free Dilbert Newsletter, i.e. the Induhviduals, will be ordered to keep the ground litter-free. Then I will pass a law classifying those Individuals as litter just to watch them hop all day to stay off the ground.

Sincerely,

Dogbert

==

Dear Dogbert,

I’m a high ranking official and I have two secretaries (ages 24 and 25). I am not married, but my work ethics tell me that I should not associate with either of them outside work, and that the relationship should be strictly professional. Nevertheless, my friends have a different opinion, and they ask me why I don’t do something. What do you advise?

Ethan

Dear Heathen,

I advise those two secretaries quit and get a job with a more attractive harasser. I assume you are hideous because you are a high ranking official and still can’t get a woman.

Sincerely,

Dogbert

==

Dear Dogbert,

I am a female working in a predominantly male workplace. What would you suggest I do when speaking to male coworkers who constantly “adjust themselves” during our conversation?

Emma

Dear Enema,

Proper etiquette demands that a man make adjustments via the front pant pocket while muttering something about looking for change. That, plus some jumping jacks will usually do the trick. You can encourage proper etiquette whenever you see it being done the rude way, by saying something witty such as “I didn’t realize your brain starts the same way as a lawnmower.”

Sincerely,

Dogbert

Okay.

That was good, wasn't it?

I sprained my ankle. And tomorrow's NAPFA. Woe is moi. I went to this Chinese Sensei. The place was at the block of flats opposite Rulang. First the guy attached these electric thingi to my foot and gave me a shock. Literally. It wasn't painful but it felt weird. After the shock, I kinda like experienced a out-of-body experience. It was like I was detached... Like my mind was on autopilot. It was weird, anyway. Then he put these slabs of thick, black paste on pieces of paper and slapped it on my foot. Then he bound it up with bandages. Freaky. So tomorrow I'm going to school in sandals. And not taking my NAPFA. Boo hoo. It'll be weird taking it all alone.

I hereby declare...

Good Charlotte, the band with the name with a thousand puns, officially rocks.
RX, the girl(boy?) with MTV for a brain, is officially my personal iTunes store.
Scouts, the CCA that I love to hate, is officially 99.9% pervert.
The Gunner, the dude with the bad haircut, is officially OVER the MegaSlutBitch.
Yay. YAY.

Okay. Every time I see something along the lines of "love makes you crazy", I wince in disgust. To me, whoever wrote that was just trying to seem poetic and sofificated. (Haw, haw, haw.) But now I see some truth in it. I'm NOT talking about moi, you idiot. I'm talking about some of my friends, namely, RX, the Gunner and Zihao. Let's start with case #1:~

Case #1 -- RX

  • Crazy over a guy called *bleep*. Sorry, I've been sworn to secrecy.
  • Calls him Cyclops.
  • Wanted a X-Men 3 DVD for her birthday.
  • Oh yah, he is 2 years older than RX.

Case Closed.

Case #2 -- the Gunner

  • Crazy over a girl called Lihui, aptly named MegaSlutBitch (MSB).
  • Therefore, crazy over a mushroom.
  • Therefore, REAL BAD TASTE.
  • Thankfully, he has gotten over her. (Hopefully.)

Case Closed.

Case #3 -- Zihao

  • Crazy over a girl called Yi Ling.
  • Yi Ling has a TWIN. (Very soap opera.)
  • Yi Ling = [Dumb Blonde minus Beauty minus Blond Hair].
  • She's supposed to look cute, but something went wrong. Horribly wrong.
  • Zihao's also a pervert. I kinda feel sorry for Yi Ling.

Inconclusive. Investigation will continue.

Psuedo-Movie Critic

Zorro and Cinderella. It’s just BEGGING for mocking jokes.

In case you dunno what the bloody hell I'm talking about, it's A Cinderella Story. Tons of Girl-Type-Persons in my class like it and I was kinda curious about how bad their taste can get. It was on Channel 5.

It's a high school teen movie. Here's the general idea:~

Girl is unpopular idiot. Admires popular jock-hunk who actually has a poetic side. (Haw, haw, haw.) Meets J-H (jock-hunk) online by chance. Establishes relationship but remains anonymous. Causes J-H to dump cheerleader girlfriend. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Plans revenge. Girl dance with J-H during prom but wears mask thingus so J-H still in the dark about girl’s identity. Cheerleader gets revenge but revealing identify and insulting girl. They magically make-up and make out. Eww. End.

Let's put this in pros and cons:~

Pros:

Accurate portrayal of high school hierarchy in America. (Cheerleaders/Mean Queens then Jocks then Jokers then Nice Guys then Goths then Nerd-Geeks then Slacker-Rebels)

No Disney heartwarming shit.

Cons:

Predictable best-friend-is-opposite-sex-but-no-romantic-relationship thingus.

Predictable best-friend-makes-it-big-in-the-end thingus.

Predictable triumph-of-the-downtrodden thingus.

Predictable hero(heroine)-gets-the-girl(guy) thingus.

Bad puns.

Mushy shit.

So, in conclusion, this movie's no big fuzzy deal. I thought the kissing was supposed to be only at the last bit? Way too much, anyway. Should have waited till Dakota Fanning rew up then shot the movie. In fact, all teen/tween movies should have Dakota in them. Sarcasm. Hilary’s okay, I guess. But she's better off as Lizzie McGuire. Or singing. Definitely.

Hmm. That was fun. You know, insulting movies and stuff. Should do this more often.

Oh yah. Zorro and Cinderella (a.k.a Cindy):~

One day, Orro, Zorro’s brother, went to save Cindy from a discriminately evil dragon. After killing the dragon effortlessly in defiance of many laws of science, Orro tried to copy his brother’s style by slashing the letter “O” on the dragon’s forehead. He did three deft slashes. It looked nothing like an “O”. He slashed another few times. It still looked nothing like an “O”. In frustration he slashed frenziedly and screamed, “Why is “O” so @#$%^&* hard to draw!?!”
Cindy shot him in the head. “I can’t have a relationship with a guy with bad penmanship,” she said.
Then she left for some Ben and Jerry. Later, two idiots, Britney and Paris came across Orro and the dragon. “What are those slashes?” Britney asked.
“I think it’s a picture of a bald head,” said Paris.
“Nah, it looks more of like a drug rehabilitation centre,” said Britney.
“Let’s shoot him again for bad penmanship.”
They shot him again.

Okay. Laugh. Thank you.

Okay...

I haven't been posting lately 'cause I feel real weird. Mood swings and stuff. So I'm afraid I may get into "ranting" mode and offend people. Especially if they're big, muscle-bond idiots. No, it's not you Gunny. No, it's not you, Qian Nan. When I say "big, muscle-bound idiots", I'm referring to them in general. And my scout career is at a all-time low. Don't wanna talk about it.

They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I beg to (dream and) differ. Every knock counts. They build up till you're dead. No point suffering for the sake of "character building". That is, essentially, crap.

Okay, I'm ranting. To tired to stop myself.

I've been doing some thought analysis lately. (Metacognition -- a CID thingus.) Anyway, I've come up with the following psychobabble:~ (Gawd, I love that word.)

Reasons for my immense dislike for scouts:~
  • I believe strongly in the brains-over-brawn thing and everyone in scouts are dudes who have nothing better to do than to obsess over six-packs, push-ups and biceps. Idiots.
  • They're perverts. 90% of them. There's this dude who's looks like a mummy's boy who watches porn. Idiots.
  • The adults in charge think we're all delinquents who need to be tortured and "put on the correct path in life". Idiots.
  • And, of course, there are many other more reasons.

Now, when the word "scouts" is mentioned, people look at me. I HATE IT. I don't wanna be associated with it. I'm turning emo. Thinking suicidal thoughts. (JOKE! Stay clam, Mr Social Worker.) The next time you see me, I'll be in black and will have scary eye shadow. Even more reasons:~

  • I don't believe in the whole "honour" thing. I don't think any one does. "Hypocrites!' screams Gunny.
  • Okay, the scouting movement was ONCE great. But now it has been reduced to a CCA that people join when they can't get into any thing else.

I don't know if you've noticed, but this post feels a little more "down" than the others. Gawd, I feel horrible. Nowadays in school, I'm, like, talking to myself in the head most of the time. My I get bored I recite lyrics from Infinity On High. Thankfully, Cynthia's not such a bitch anymore. (The sky is going to fall. LSX has complimented Cynthia.) She's not singing as often. (Pigs start to fly.) And she's not squealing at allegedly "cute" stuff. (The earth explodes.)

Okay, it's ending. Nothing more to say. I feel marginally better. Thanks for the therapy.

Blah

Really sorry for the lame title but I can't come up with anything else.

Blah.

You know, last time, the emocon I see around the most was =P. But now, it's -.-". OMG, I can't believe I did that. It's SO teenybopperish and SO out of my character. And it takes time to type. Okay, lame.

My dad got this big LCD monitor at a lucky draw. It's widescreen and so the resolution's really high. It's...um...let's see...Really sorry for the lame title but I can't come up with anything else.

My dad got this big LCD monitor at a lucky draw. It's widescreen and so the resolution's really high. It's...um...let's see...1440x900. Finally, a tech toy that not everyone has. And it makes playing LF2 you heck of an experience. Yes, I'm nuts about LF2. (RX: Specify your nut.)

What's with the winged sheep in Infinty On High? I don't get it but it's quirky-cool. Just like Fall Out Boy.

At first I thought FOB didn't have any eye candy (for girls, that is) and that they were the type to make it big based solely on their FREAKIN' GOOD MUSIC. But I was wrong. I got to know FOB better and I discovered Pete Wentz. Oh well. No band is devoid of eye candy. Except Gorrilaz. They're weird. Not good-weird. Bad-weird. Punk-Rebel-Weird. Me no likey.

Seems that people are noticing this blog. That day, Cynthia said something about my blog. I didn't even know she knew it existed. I wanna keep this blog low-profile, though. Sometimes I go slightly CRAZY (puberty?) and start ranting.

I spent this whole weekend slaving over the IU day presentation. Hope it's good enough.

Unlike the Gunner, I only can recognise 30% of the music I hear. But I hear 60% of them over and over again. SexyBack on MRTs. Smack That on buses. This country's gots no taste, I tell you. I wouldn't miss anything if the whole freaking music industry was reduced to Green Day, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, ABBA, (are they dead?) Avril Lavigne, American Idol (Kelly Clarkson's GOOD), All-American Rejects, Simple Plan, Linkin Park, (just to keep the Gunner happy) and maybe a Korean idiot or two. (We won't want too many dead Li Huis on our hands.)

I, as you all know, am the king of parodies and mockery. (Sorry Shi Min) So, therefore, in conculsion, to round it up, all in all, I'll be churning out paradies and mockeries on anything under the sun. Hopefully I won't get sued. My Seseme Street thingus had Azhar in tears. (Boy, am I good.)

"(Peace offering accepted, Jerian.)"

My computer can't run messager programs (MSN, Yahoo) so all of you who have me on your MSN lists may now weep and remove me from your lists. Try to get over the greif as soon as possible.

To be honest, all this crapping I'm doing is to stall for time as I think of a RLFRS for this post. For those who forgot what RLFRS is, it stands for Random Line From Random Song. It's something I shameless copied from RX.

Speaking of RX, she's mentioning me alot in her posts. It gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling. (Not unlike how I feel when I was Happy Tree Friends.) Winnie the Poo (no, there's no spelling error) is LUCKY. Anyways, as a fweaking good fwiend, I'll mention her too.

Happy now, you egoist?

Of course you are.

My LF2 website now seems a little unachievable. Too many aspects of LF2 to deal with...NO! Must be determined. Will carry on till dead and vultures circle my body, ocassionally swooping down to take a bite. Until hyeanas use me as the main course for their buffets.

Hmm... let's see... anything else to crap about??

?? No??

Ok.
