Living, Dying, Lying

"True friends stab you right in the face." That's one of the most freaking cool quotes I've heard.

Anyway, wanna do some music critism. Commentary. The rest of the world's got me PC too.

Most albums by non-mainstream bands will have a songs that sounds poppier and more catchy than the rest of the album. This is, like, their money song. (a.k.a Single) It gets to be a ringtone and a vid but usually isn't as good. Infinity On High's single was Arms Race, Simple Plan's was When I'm Gone, Decemberunderground's was Miss Murder, (which is just as good as the rest of the album. Great exception) The Best Damn Thing's was the horrific Girlfriend, (totally crushed me. I thought Avril was this emo-punk chick. Then I realise it didn't change her chio-ness and life went on) Boys Like Girls' was The Great Escape... You get my drift. Actually these songs are the ones you like the first time you listen to the album but they fade out in the long run. It's kinda sad to see bands need to do this to make money. As in, go against their true musical direction. Just shows how screwed tastes are now. Sad.

Been reading album reviews. It's really cool the way they discribe the music, with references to music "scenes" and past hits and similar bands. And they've pretty intelligent tastes. If it's pop, they'll acknowledge that it's catchy but soon to burnout. If it's some kinda weird genre like folk or country or jazz, I don't really read. If it's punk, they reference and compared it to FALL OUT BOY. Muahahahahahahaha. It's better than the Grammys.

EOYs coming. Shit.

"What's the hook, the twist within this verbose mystery?
I would gladly bet my life upon it
That the ghost you love, you ray of light will fizzle out
Without hope
We're the empty set just flowing through wrapped in skin
Ever searching for what we were promised
Reaching for the golden ring we'd never let go
Who would ever let us put their filthy hands upon it?"
~Miss Murder by AFI
(That's the breakdown (critics' term) of Miss Murder. Damn sinister. =) )
