ZOMFG I'm so hyped. Just saw the MV for I Don't Care, the first single from Folie A Deux. The MV itself proves the pwnage of FOB. (Although most S'porean teens still remain tragically oblivious to that.) The vid has hell lot of guest celebs, and not just from the music industry. I even saw (ROFLMAOOL) Sarah Palin. (Hmm. FOB supports Obama. Which I do too, coincidentally.)
Folie A Deux means the "shared madness of two" (a.k.a a "relationship") which is such a cool new angle on it. I Don't Care is, musically/commercially a exact clone of Arms Race. A great rock anthem chorus but lyrically weak verses. And the breakdown's a bit...jazzy. Which is surprising, but not actually that bad.
Anyway, I hope FOB doesn't stray too far away from their TTTYG and FUCT musical style. The diversity on IOH was good, but also showed warning signs. I was already devastated by Panic!, and I can't take a second fatal blow. (Job. Lololol. Can't help it.)
Now I'm torn between deciding who's more talented, FOB or Green Day. If I'm just looking at the band and its members, FOB wins hands down. But musically, they're totally equally matched. Fall Out Boy's being led by a freaking musical genius, Patrick Stump (he joined FOB as a drummer, had his godlike vocals discovered, then picked up guitar) but Green Day has lasted a bit longer and is one of the only indie rock bands from the 90s to make it to mainstream and coexist with teens of the new millennium. Also, American Idiot, as an entire album, beats all of FOB's albums.
Was actually intending to review Don't You Fake It by the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, but I guess I can save it for next time.
"I don't care
As Long as it's about me
The best of us
Can find happiness in misery"
